TREASURER SHOULD IMMEDIATELY RELEASE OZCAR EMAILS

Treasurer Wayne Swan should immediately release all email correspondence concerning OzCar, which he claims is proof that John Grant did not receive preferential treatment from Treasury officials in relation to Ozcar.

Reports in newspapers today state that the Treasurer’s office has released a series of emails concerning two other dealers which the Treasurer claims received “as much, if not more attention from the Treasury” than Mr Grant. [1]

These selective emails have not yet been released in the public domain.

Far from being transparent, the Treasurer’s refusal to release these selective emails calls into question the validity of his claims.

The Treasurer should come clean with the Australian people and immediately release all correspondence to back up his claims.
